Planting

All citrus trees love the sun, and the lemon tree is no different. It will grow and fruit best when located in full sunlight, though it can survive in a slightly shady spot. This tree prefers at least eight hours a day of direct light.

Watering

They should be watered thoroughly in the summer and less in the winter. They enjoy humidity and should be misted regularly. Lemons are at their peak from May to October, but growing them in containers that can be brought indoors allows them to flourish in almost any climate at any time of year.

Pet/baby safe

Both lemon (citrus limon) and lime (citrus aurantifolia) trees produce phototoxic compounds called psoralens as well as linalool and limonene. Although safe for humans, these substances are potentially toxic to canines in large amounts. Protect yourself and your pet

Deliveries

We deliver five days a week, and please be advised that deliveries will take between 2-5 days.

We’ll text and email you the day before your delivery to give you a more precise time slot.

For deliveries outside London, you’ll receive an email with a link to your order status page once your order is out for delivery. We have a small number of postcodes, particularly in the Scottish Islands & Highlands, where we cannot offer next-day delivery and our lead time may take a little longer. Once you have placed your order, we will let you know about any changes to the delivery time for these postcodes.

If you’re not at home when delivery is attempted, our drivers will usually leave your order in your designated safe place (we’ll ask you for this at check out). If that’s not possible, delivery will be attempted up to two more times.
